The Art of Culinary: Tenri Cooking Club

Discover the joy of cooking and baking in a fun, safe, and collaborative kitchen environment! The Cooking Club introduces students to the fundamental skills of culinary arts, encouraging creativity through food and promoting healthy eating habits.

Under the direct supervision of instructors, members learn basic kitchen safety rules, knife handling techniques (using age-appropriate tools), food hygiene, and measurement concepts. We prepare a wide variety of dishes, ranging from delicious baked pastries and cookies to healthy salads, local Kenyan delicacies, and simple international meals.

Cooking is also a practical way to apply mathematics and science, as students learn about chemical reactions in baking, measurements, and nutrition. Each session concludes with a shared meal where students enjoy the fruits of their labor and practice table manners. Put on your apron and let’s start baking!
